How has the change to online university affected students amid the Covid-19 pandemic?

Western Sydney University currently has 41,864 students enrolled to study this year across their 11 campuses with 3,000 staff members employed to cater to those students needs. Now that students have to complete this years study online, almost 45,000 people, including staff and students alike, have had to adapt to their new way of learning and teaching.

University students now have to utilise online platforms such as Zoom which is an online video meeting program to attend their online classes. Utilising online platforms such as Zoom allows students to move forward in their degree despite not being able to attend their classes in person as well as keeping many staff members such as lecturers and IT staff in their jobs. The adaptations that Western Sydney University have made for their staff and students during this unforeseen pandemic have been very beneficial to those it affects however, that is not to say that this move to online teaching and learning has not come without its challenges.

In this news report, we delve into what life is now like for staff and students amongst this pandemic. The news report will also include interviews with students of all different experiences and backgrounds from first year students, to young mums to someone who is in their final year and contemplating if they can handle the stress of completing their degree after their learning method has been adapted due to a global pandemic.
